Playing with Tensegrity

As I said in my last podcast, I've chosen to take the Darwin at Home exploration into a new geometric territory, concentrating on the structural concept called Tensegrity.
After getting the fascinatingly different physics working such that some intervals are rigid and don't touch each other and others only pull, I was able to put together a first program that will let us get a feel for what tensegrity is and how it works.

Try it out!
I'm in the process of integrating this into the original buildevo program, so that tensegrities can be built by hand and evolved to do something. They might learn to walk, but I'm kind of thinking that learning to grow will be the first step, and complicated enough to keep me going for a while.
